The second annual San Diego Book Festival was a huge success, drawing over 20,000 to the Liberty Station event held on August 25.

The San Diego Book Awards was at the second annual San Diego Book Festival this past August 25th.

The festival, sponsored by the San Diego Union Tribune and held at Liberty Station, drew thousands of book lovers.

At the San Diego Book Awards table were several past award winners, and 2017 award winners Virginia Hull and Muriel Sandy were presented their trophies for Best Unpublished Memoir and Best Unpublished Short Story, respectively.

Virginia Hull is the 2017 San Diego Book Awards winner for Best Unpublished Memoir, “An Unfair Death.”

Muriel Sandy is the 2017 San Diego Book Awards winner for Best Unpublished Short Story, “A Matter of Integrity.”

San Diego Book Awards vice-president David Urban had the honor of appearing with Earl Javorsky and Caitlin Rother at the Crime and Mystery Forum at the 2018 San Diego Festival of Books.
