Matchbook Story Contest!

The San Diego Public Library is now accepting entries for their 2nd annual Matchbook Short Story Contest.

Contest closes at midnight on November 1st— the winner will be announced on December 15th.

Calling all Published and Unpublished Entries for the 2019 San Diego Book Awards!

The San Diego Book Awards competition is open to current residents of San Diego County. Books submitted for the 2018 competition (awards presented in June 2019) must have been first published or copyrighted in 2018.

BE ADVISED — For published entrants, 2017 and 2018 release dates are included.

Ann Bancroft receives Best Unpublished Novel Award

Ann Bancroft, right, winner of the 2017 Best Unpublished Novel Award for “The Oakland Mets,” with Tiffany Vakilian, president of the San Diego Book Awards.

After a hectic summer traveling, Ann Bancroft finally returned home to Coronado and received her San Diego Book Awards trophy.

Ann’s novel, “The Oakland Mets,” was the winner in the 2017 Best Unpublished Novel category.

San Diego Book Awards president Tiffany Valikian, and vice-president David Grant Urban, were on-hand to present Ann with her trophy.
