As the crowning event of the library’s Local Author Program, the Showcase offers our published authors an opportunity to present their work to a large audience of readers, publishers, and fellow book people and residents.

The 2019 Submission Window is now open!
The San Diego Book Awards 25th annual book awards competition is open to current residents of San Diego County. Books submitted for the 2019 competition must have been published or copyrighted in either 2018 or 2019. The submission period runs from October 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019. The event will run the entire month of February 2020 in the beautiful San Diego Central Library @ Joan Λ Irwin Jacobs Common. The library features a special component for Little Local Authors, ages 11 and under.
The 23rd annual SDBA submission period for published entries will run January 1, 2018, thru January 31, 2018. Can't wait to read your submissions!
